Information We Collect ### Information You Provide - **Photos** you upload for diagnosis (sent to Google Gemini AI to produce your diagnosis; stored by us only if you opt in — see §4) - **Problem descriptions** you type into the diagnosis tool - **Email address** (only if you choose to sign up or provide feedback) - **Home profile information** (year built, home type, appliances) — stored locally in your browser unless you create an account - **ZIP code** for local store availability ### Information Collected Automatically - **Usage data**: which features you use, how often you diagnose, which guides you view - **Device information**: browser type, operating system, screen size - **Analytics**: page views, session duration (via Posthog or similar — privacy-friendly analytics) ### What We Do NOT Collect - We do not store your photos unless you opt in — the "Keep this photo to help improve fixRAgent" checkbox is **off by default**, and if you leave it off, your photo is sent to Google's Gemini API for the diagnosis and is not saved by us - We do not sell your personal data to third parties - We do not collect payment card information (handled entirely by Stripe) --- ## 2. How We Use Your Information - **To provide the service**: your photo and description are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate your diagnosis - **To improve FIXR**: aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us build better features - **To communicate**: if you provided an email, we may send product updates (you can unsubscribe anytime) - **To process payments**: Stripe handles all payment processing; we only see your subscription status --- ## 3. How We Share Information We do not sell your data. We share information only with: - **Google (Gemini API)**: your photo and problem description are processed by Google's AI. We earn a referral fee. --- ## 4. Data Retention - **Photos**: every photo is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate your diagnosis. Saving a photo on our servers is **opt-in and off by default**. If you do not opt in, we do not store it. If you do opt in, the photo is stored in a private bucket under a filename derived from the file's own SHA-256 content hash (not your name, email, or account id), retained for **30 days**, and then deleted automatically by a daily retention job - **Repair history**: stored in your browser's localStorage (clears if you clear your browser data) or in your account if signed in - **Account data**: retained until you delete your account - **Analytics**: anonymized, retained for 12 months --- ## 5.
